April/May Dance Festivals in Brussels

Spring in Brussels is a vibrant season for dance, with numerous festivals showcasing a diverse range of styles, workshops and performances. Here are some notable dance festivals taking place in April and May 2025:​

D Festival

Dates: April 3–11, 2025

Description: Hosted by Théâtre Marni and Le Senghor, D Festival is an annual event highlighting choreographers and dancers, primarily from Brussels. The 2025 edition features a blend of krump, stepping, hip-hop, and contemporary performance, reflecting the city’s dynamic dance scene. ​

Dancité Festival

Dates: April 18–21, 2025​

Description: Celebrating its 15th edition, Dancité offers a platform for young and professional dancers, as well as talented choreographers from across Belgium. Participants perform various dance styles, including Hip Hop, Jazz, and Contemporary, on the stage of Théâtre Wolubilis in Brussels. ​D

Les Journées de la Danse (Danses en Fête!)

Dates: April 18–29, 2025​

Description: Organized by the Fédération des Danses (FDDanses), the 4th edition of Danses en Fête! celebrates International Dance Day on April 29. The event features a multitude of dance-related activities, including performances, workshops, exhibitions, and master classes across Wallonia and Brussels, aiming to make dance accessible to all.

The BRUX – Brussels Lindy Exchange

Dates: May 9–11, 2025​

Description: Now in its 9th edition, The BRUX is a weekend-long celebration of Lindy Hop and swing dance. The event includes all-night live music parties at various venues in Brussels, such as Halles Saint-Géry and Albert Hall, offering dancers an opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant swing dance community. ​

Kunstenfestivaldesarts

Dates: May 9–31, 2025​

Description: Marking its 30th edition, Kunstenfestivaldesarts is an international performing arts festival that challenges our understanding of the world.
